Summer Pregnancies
August 20, 2008 by girlinductive
I’ve always heard how difficult summer pregnancies were: hot, sweaty, miserable.
But no one ever told me how wonderful summer babies are. Rome and I have spent most of our evenings since the delivery in our backyard (thank you, God for “noodging” us to make it beautiful this year) sitting on a picnic blanket in the evening while Kate plays and the baby nurses. It’s wonderful. It’s heaven. It’s S-L-O-W. Slow as in when you were a kid and the summer days just floated around you without a care. S-L-O-W as in sitting under that big cottonwood tree that’s in front of the main lodge at Zion National Park and having no plans to do anything else but watch the cotton blow in the breeze. I haven’t enjoyed a summer this much since I was a kid.

You should blow up and frame that last pic! Gorgeous! I’d put it in my bathroom.
What a fun blog! My Chloe was born in August and I was so thrilled to have an excellent reason to stay out of the heat.
I sure get that. The heat keeps us indoors most of the day, but down here it cools off nicely in the evenings.
